UNMASKED

Pastor’s Discussion Questions Guide

Leading Deep Biblical Conversations About False Identity & True Identity in Christ

INTRODUCTION FOR PASTORS

UNMASKED is designed to help people move:

  • from hiding to honesty,
  • from shame to grace,
  • from performance to authenticity,
  • and from false identity to true identity in Christ.
These questions are intentionally:
  • emotionally engaging,
  • biblically grounded,
  • psychologically aware,
  • and spiritually transformational.
The goal is not merely intellectual discussion.

The goal is:

self-awareness,

spiritual reflection,

emotional honesty,

and Gospel transformation.

HOW TO USE THESE QUESTIONS

These questions may be used for:

  • sermons,
  • small groups,
  • Sabbath School,
  • men’s groups,
  • retreats,
  • counseling groups,
  • leadership meetings,
  • discipleship cohorts,
  • or workshops.

IMPORTANT FACILITATION PRINCIPLES

1. Do Not Rush Vulnerability

People open gradually.

2. Allow Silence

Some questions require emotional reflection.

3. Avoid Fixing People

Create space for honesty.

4. Focus on Transformation, Not Shame

The Gospel is invitation, not condemnation.

CLOSING PRAYER THEMES

Encourage prayers around:

  • honesty,
  • surrender,
  • healing,
  • grace,
  • identity,
  • freedom,
  • and authenticity.

FINAL ENCOURAGEMENT FOR PASTORS

The goal of UNMASKED is not:

  • emotional exposure without healing,
  • shame,
  • or religious performance.
The goal is:

freedom.

Because the Gospel is ultimately an invitation:

  • out of hiding,
  • out of fear,
  • out of pretending,
  • and into authentic life rooted in Christ.
People are exhausted from environments where everyone performs.

UNMASKED creates space for people to finally become honest…
and discover they are still loved by God.
