What is performance-based identity?
It is believing your worth rises and falls with how well you do: the last win, the last compliment, the last review. The Performer mask grows from learning that love had to be earned. Scripture starts somewhere else: you were loved before your first achievement.
What does the Bible say about perfectionism?
God asks for faithfulness, not flawlessness. Paul put it plainly: "Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God?" (Galatians 1:10). Excellence offered to God is worship; perfection demanded of yourself is a weight you were never meant to carry.
